Hey Guys,

I just signed up to a new ISP and the upload speed is almost double the download speed is this normal??

I am on a gigabit connection below is the speed test. EDIT: I should also mention this is over Ethernet not Wireless

Thanks for any of your thoughts and comments, I just wanna make sure before i start the horrible process of talking to the Philippines to argue about it....

They probably throttle the download more because that's what most people use.

I'd try various different speed test sites, it can be hard finding one that reliably handles high speeds.  Their own connection will have more spare capacity for the upload test than the download, because almost everyone has faster download than upload but their own links will be symmetrical.

I am calling it now that its the router.

Mid range router CPUs tend to cap out around 400mbps and download is hurt much more because the 1000 services running on the CPU.

The only other thing this could be is a "gig for every body plan!" when during peak hours...yeah this is typical
