Razer Blade 15 Base Model VS ...???

Musabayov

Hello Everyone,

I have just sold my Acer VX15 and I am looking for a replacement machine but with a thinner, lighter, stealthier design and longer battery life.

The specs on VX15 were as follows:

i7 7700HQ

120 SSD + 1TB SHDD

GTX 1050ti 4GB

16 Ram

Full HD IPS panel @60 HZ (would like to try 144hz as I heard it is much better)

Avg Battery life = 2 hrs

I was looking at the Razer Blade 15 Base model, because my budget is about `$1600.

I also came accross MSI GS63VR with i7 8th Gen and was thinking about Macbook Air 2018...

I do a lot of web surfing, occasinally playing GTA5, Hitman, and any new released action titles. (Occasinally = 2-3 times a month)

I also work with Premiere Pro a lot and it would also be nice to have a smooth experience with the Adobe AfterEffects.

I heard a lot of negative stuff about Razer and its support, so that draws me back a little from purchasing one.

I live in US.

Thoughts?

I game... I edit... I work...

And yet there is no perfect laptop for all mentioned above in a small, thin and light form factor...

Which one would be the best bang for a buck?

XPS 15 is pretty good, and better than quite a few of the Blades.

Razer's laptops are pretty bad quality, I would definitely not recommend them.

Something with 16GB of ram and an i7?

I would personally stick with the 1080p screen but you might want the 4k.

I also heard that getting Dell's refurbished products is a good idea because most of them are hardly used often...

Dell makes decent quality systems.

Never heard that myself.

If you want to risk it, it's your money.
