Cryorig H7 AM4 Socket

KennySpag

Hey,

So I’m buying my pc soon (r5 2600/ gtx1070 ti) and I’m looking at cpu coolers.

After some one researching I’ve decided on the cryorig h7 as it seems to be good value for money and still a decent performer. (I’ll be overclocking so I’ll need an aftermarket cooler)

My question is: does the H7 from pccg (PCCaseGear) https://www.pccasegear.com/products/33457/cryorig-h7-cpu-cooler

come with the AM4 socket. It says it does in the item description but nowhere else like in the website photos or on the cryorig website itself. I know that I can have one sent to me by them but I would like to avoid that if possible. Yeah, so, does anyone know if it comes with the AM4 socket mount or will I have to get one sent?

Thanks

Kenny

Ask PCCaseGear. Newer stock should come with it but they might have old stock.

Moved to Air Cooling.

I bought one months ago and it had the AM4 bracket. So you should be fine.

Though I advise you to buy a different cooler. The H7 has by far the worse mounting mechanism I've ever seen. It's instant frustration, I nearly threw mine out.

It's a toss up. I would imagine all H7s are shipping with an AM4 mount at this point, but how old is PC Case Gear's stock? You should probably contact them before placing an order and make sure that the one they send you specifically lists AM4 on the box.

Bro, do you even Dark Rock Pro 3? Even the ancient Zalman coolers that feel like you're about to snap your motherboard in half aren't as overly complicated as the DRP3.

Not gonna defend the H7 too much, because it is a PITA to mount, but after you've done it a few times, it gets better.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Nope, because usually I don't buy coolers with shitty mounting hardware; if I'd known how bad the H7's was, I'd never have purchased it. I usually only buy Noctua.

It was bad enough that they felt the need to redesign it. That alone shows it wasn't even worthy of their own endorsement.

It worked fine for me. Maybe it's because I used an LGA1151 socket? What was frustrating about it to you?

The LGA1151 socket is a little more acceptable. The AM4 socket is retarded.

The fact you have to move the arms to match the holes, and then screw them in without the arms moving. It's not as bad with the Intel socket because that's how it comes. With AMD, you have to flip them over, and it's next to impossible.

It's basically a clone of the Hyper 212 Evo, but slightly less complicated as it doesn't work with as many sockets.
