Xeon X3440 worth it for upgrade ?

I have an i5 680 and does the performance will increase significantly when i get a Xeon X3440?
Im not towards gaming but more on rendering things like photoshop
Does it worth it?below are my specs

Asus P7H55-M LE
4GB Ram
Kingmax 120gb SSD

4GB of ram is holding you back too. You will see performance increase, but I don't know if there's such a thing as 2x2GB DDR3 so you should get another 4GB dimm to get dual channel. It will help a lot as well.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Xeon X3440

This may or may not help

Does your motherboard even support Xeon CPUs? MOst Xeons that I"m aware of require ECC RAM as well...

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

You need more RAM.

As for the processor upgrade, check the videos by this guy (Brian of Tech yes City) in YT:

https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=x3440+tech+yes+city&FORM=HDRSC3

He's fanboy of the 1156 socket and upgrading it with a Xeon processor.  Should give you an idea on the performance improvement, especially those videos of his.

You'll need more ram if you want a good increase in performance as well as a cpu upgrade. The x3470 would be a great upgrade that you could overclock even better due to the x24 multiplier.

I totally agree. I personally am running an x3470 at the moment. It was $39 on aliexpress. It is more then i need right now.

After liquid metaling it, I can get up to 3.8 ghz at 58C. It has a maximum temp of 70C.

Compaired to the x3440 it is much better for the price.

Yeah, the 1156 chips are usually limited by their low multiplier and the xeons are better binned (that temp limit isn't really realistic btw 85c is a more realistic temp limit). On a decent mobo the x3470 can go 4.2ghz pretty easy.
