I see people do this all the time. Why do headphones, which are generally more expensive than ear buds, make people look poor? Why should you care what people think anyway?

On/over ear headphones are a bit more rare, so some people will see it as strange.

 

I find it strange myself since they're so bulky and isolate you from your surroundings a bit more, but if that's what you want to do, then power to ya.
