Does my CPU die if my Mobo does?

Hi. I have the suspicion that either my CPU or Mobo is dead. If my Mobo is dead and my cpu isn’t, will my cpu die? Thanks.

A dead CPU can kill boards though, if it ends up shorting things in the bpard through the socket.

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833 

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

My experience has always been when a board dies, the CPU survives.

CPU: Sempron 2500+ / P4 2.8E / P4 2.6C / A64 x2 4000+ / E6420 / E8500 / i5-3470 / i7-3770
GPU: TNT2 M64 / Radeon 9000 / MX 440-SE / 7300GT / Radeon 4670 / GTS 250 / Radeon 7950 / 660 Ti
