No display signal, new build

rjbweb

Hi, just build a new system and I am having no display signal through hdmi.

Asus z270p, intel g3930, 500w PSU.

All fans and led lights work, hdd powers up and spins but no beep on boot and no signal ... It is driving me crazy, all MB connected as per manual and I have tested and replaced hdmi cable to exclude the obvious. Got CPU out of socket clean with alcohol and reaplyed thermal... PLS HELP.... I got a very unhappy 8 year old without Minecraft.

Does your motherboard have an HDMI port or anything of that sort? If the GPU is the problem, you may get a signal trough there. Take out the GPU, if the rest of the PC works you know what it is.

You didn't list if you are using the IGPU if so you may need to make a change in the bios I see your board has display port, DVI and HDMI it may not be set to the correct port that you are trying to connect to in the bios but you will need to try an adapter to get into the bios to change

Thank you for the replys, I haven't got a GPU, the monitor is actually a TV with hdmi, I haven't got a monitor or VGA cable, just the hdmi cable which I have said replaced. The TV works ok.

No signal, no bios, no nothing. I have tried on another TV. I got speaker installed on the board and no beeps at all

I have also clear the coms ram thingy by taking the battery out and sorting the control pins on the motherboard.

it can only lol be MB, CPU or RAM... which I haven't got around spares to test out...

4gb ddr4 2133Mhz by the way.

Ok but you still have not ruled out that the signal is going to one of the other ports by default, here take a look at this:

That doesn't help, as I said, there is not signal to the display. I can't change any setting on bios.

thanks the same.

try unplugging and replugging your main power cable, I've had the same issue, it wasn't plugged all the way

Ok? but realize it won't be the boards fault if that's the case you will need to confirm one of the other ports is active and boot into the bios from that port that will require a different cable or adapter but good luck either way

I tested my PSU with a multimeter and all Voltages are correct. one thing less that could be the culprit in my troubleshooting.

motherboard, CPU and RAM are still to be confirmed since I haven't got replacements to check.

thank you all for all of your advices, I understand that it is hard to give advice in problems like this.

Just an update. (Sorry for delay been on hols)

Unfortunately, my system still not working.

I have tried to update the MB from USB but noticed that no I\O port seems to have power or not working. Keyboard or mouse no lights. Even tried installing with the box front USBs and not power. Tried a DVI adaptor to hdmi and DVI port still not work... I am gonna have to bite the bullet and take it to a shop and pay to troubleshoot.

You need a special HDMI cable to get signal from the TV. (IDK if you did that.)

Just to let you all know that in the end it was a bad Ram stick...

changed the RAM stick and booted straight away...

That is the problem when you get the latest tech and you don't have spares to test and troubleshoot...

Thank you all.
