Lenses recommendation

I have a canon 1300D and want to get a new lense with a bit more zoom, for a combination of wildlife/ landscape and photos of me and friends wakeboarding or surfing,

looking at at these two

Canon EF-S 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Lens https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EP71ETU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Y91pBb7689H10

or

Canon EF 75-300 mm f/4.0-5.6 III Lens https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00005K47Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_p-1pBbNZXQWBK

basically not sure if the image stabilisation is worth the lose of the extra zoom? Will that extra really relate to much?

it makes a ton of difference when shooting at longer focal lengths, anything over 50mm can benefit from IS. Now in many cases you will be shooting a fast enough SS to not have the issue, but it has saved me immensely shooting concerts and clubs.

So you’d get the shorter one with IS?

Yes, but you could always go with something like this:

best of both worlds.

Its a good reputable retailer, they say the one I linked you is in like new condition, and they probably provide some warranty as well, I can't see why you wouldn't go with it. Camera equipment is tough stuff.

I was talking about the concept of buying used not the lens. Honestly, most such lenses aren't that great anyway, so you may as well go with the one that offers you the most utility.
