  1. 1. Which of the 2 laptops should I get?

    • Acer Aspire 5
    • Lenovo IdeaPad 320

I'm planning on getting an entry-level gaming laptop and currently, laptops with last year's MX150 seem to be the sweet spot. So, I've narrowed down my options to just 2 models; the Acer Aspire 5 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 320.

Both have exactly the same specs; the i5-8250U, 4 GB of RAM (which I'll certainly upgrade immediately), a 1 TB HDD, 15.6" 1080p display, and similar ports. The problem is, why the [Advertiser Friendly Content ?] is the IdeaPad 320 220 MYR (55 USD) cheaper than the Aspire 5? Which should I get? Thanks!

Oh, I forgot to mention; even though some will think it's just 55 USD, that's actually quite a some of money in my country's currency.

Wouldn't recommend an MX150 at all, save up for something with a GTX 1050, or just build like a cheap R3 2200G desktop.

Also there's 2 versions of the MX 150, one is way worse than the other.

Ideapad 320 has mediocre overall quality. Aspire 5 is better. Also consider Ideapad 320s 14 (920MX D5) and Swift 3 (SF314-54/54G)

Is there any way to tell which laptops have the new worse MX150?

@ZM Fong @Streetguru @AskTJ Thanks for your opinions! After some thinking, I think I'll get the Acer Aspire 5. The IdeaPad seems like a good laptop but as @Streetguru mentioned, it might be utilizing the weaker MX150, which might explain the huge price gap.

If you aren't looking for better graphics it might be worth getting an R5 2500U laptop, will give you a 4 core 8 thread CPU, and I think the GPU is comparable to the MX150.
