So my Fan died, on my 6 months old GTX 1060, and i still have waranty but if i want to go on the waaranty i have to send the card back to the shop, and i don't have time for this so... Here it is, my oversized fan on small GTX 1060

4 screws to remove front shroud

And bam and bam! Some zipties and here we go

Conclusion, it worked, temps got actually significantly lower so yeay, win!

I actually would do it from now on even without broken fan i will do it probably on my next card

And i shit on waaranty

I just see how dirty it is, I'm not touch that with a 10 feet pole. lol. But it would appear so.

Not really needed, most keyboards can accept diagonal input from the arrow keys by pressing up and left at the same time for example. Also depends on how games accept inputs.

My guess is that the button simply simulates a push of down left and up for example.

TBH, i never used thoose keys

Did you have to connect something to the fan port on the gpu. I've modded a couple laptops and had to make a jumper to trick the board into thinking a fan was plugged in just wondering if I'm gonna have to do the same here

I didn't and it is working fine. GPU works nominaly. Fan is plugged to fan hub witch is connected to mobo. Your card may require a jumper :/ But i don't see why don't plug a fan to gpu connector

So is the fan running 100% at all times? Normally you would plug a fan into the GPU header so it would have temperature control and not run at 100% all of the time.
