Asus ROG STRIX SCAR Edition Laptop

Hello all,

So after a considerable deal more research, I settled on this this https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ROG-Strix-SCAR-Edition/ laptop for myself.

Key Specs -

CPU: i7-8750H

RAM: 16GB (1x16) 2666MHz DDR4

GPU: GTX 1070

SSD: Samsung 960 Evo M.2 500GB

HDD: SSHD 2TB

Display: Full HD 1920x1080, 144Hz 3ms(GtG) Matte Wide View IPS-Level G-Sync

Total cost: $2,113

*Price includes shipping, mousepad, keyboard, mouse, and headset.

Please check if if that is a balanced build and seems like a good deal in your opinion.

Said SCAR edition, and the weapon shown on the screen isn't even a SCAR...

Anyways, you so if it's a good deal. For what? You're going to have? Looking for a work station? Just for FB and web browsing?

Umm don't get Asus GL series laptops unless they fix the mediocre cooling in every GL laptop except for GL-VI. They are toasters. For that price you can definitely get something better.

What's your budget and what are your requirements?

Gaming and Academics. Budget: $2500. Including peripherals (mousepad, mouse, headset, and optionally (preferably) a keyboard. Must have GTX 1070, i7 8750H, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and display with G-Sync (preferably also a low response time and high referesh rate). If you can tell me what laptop series to look at, or direct to a specific one, it would be much appreciated. It there anyway to negate the poor cooling on this particular model?

Is portability important to you?

Not nearly as much so as performance and durability. It’s worth adding I’m looking at some MSI models, namely the Raider, but also Stealth and Titan, as well rn given your input on this model’s cooling.

Get Clevo P751/P775/P870TM from hidevolution, they provide delid+LM K CPU. For this budget don't get BGA laptops.
