Gaming wheel supporting USB 3.0 and bricked G920

DatNapk1n47

A few months ago, I purchased the Logitech G920, and it worked fine, But recently it stopped working, and the logitech support guy said that it doesn't support USB 3.0. Because I have a x399 motherboard, I don't have any 2.0 ports, so now apparently I have nothing to do with it. I tried changing the port it is plugged into, updating the firmware, the LGS software and updating Windows 10. Windows detects the wheel and its inputs, LGS detects the wheel and it inputs, but games receive no input. If you have any solutions to the problem or know about any gaming wheels that support the 3.0 protocol, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

...I don't think there's actually such a thing as a USB2 device that doesn't work on a USB3 controller, the controller just reverts to USB2 mode for that port.

That's what I thought, but apparently, after what my boy Kiril said, you NEED an USB 2.0 port. At this point I seriously hope my wheel is broken and I can get a replacement.

Maybe if I could tweak some settings in the BIOS it would work, but idk.

I tried Googling this and I can't find any thing to support this.  I have found people ASKING if their device would work on USB3 or having an unrelated problem and mistakenly thinking it's the USB3 controller.  The threads all have other posters saying 'Mine works fine on USB3' so the idea 'It just doesn't work on USB3, period' is debunked by other users of the same wheel.

I'm going to go with 'Customer support really knows nothing outside of their script of tech answers'

So I should file an RMA request than? I don't know what else I can do about this.

I would start by googling the problem and see if others have had the same problem and if/how they solved it.  ...But I'm weird like that.

Well if you want to try give it a shot, you can always just buy a PCI card like this and plug in your computer and test it out but i highly doubt that's the issue as the other people say.

I have a Logitech G920 myself, just to make sure, so windows doesn't detect the wheel at all? then tried deleting the drivers and letting the wheel install again? the wheel showing up in windows when plugged in but just not registred in games when they are launched? make sure windows game mode is disabled and that steam controller suppport is all disabled too.

Hope some of this helps :)

Windows and LGS detect the wheel, but when I try to use it in a game, it detects no inputs. I tried to uninstall all drivers, delete LGS, reinstall them, but no luck, the problem persists.

So...I googled the hell out of this problem, and there were many people that said they had the same problem, and fixed it, but I tried all of them (that I could find), and none of them worked.

then as said make sure steam controller support is disabled, settings>controllers>General controller settings and then just disable all of them and try to see if the games recognize the wheel

Still doesn't work. But unrelated to this, now my Xbox controller shows up as a keyboard. Seriously, this is getting really strange.
