Corsair k95 Platinum or another keyboard?

Hi, I am looking at getting a new keyboard and I really like the look of the Corsair K95 Platinum (I know its overpriced for a keyboard but I don't mind paying that if its a good, reliable product). I currently have a Razer Blackwidow Chroma (v1) but it is starting to fail and it is outwith its warranty so I'll need to buy a new keyboard.

Can anyone tell me if Corsair keyboards are reliable or not because I recently had to return my Corsair PSU for a refund due to it exploding inside my PC (which happened 2 times) which has really caused me to distrust their products.

If their keyboards are bad can you please state why and any possible alternatives that I could get?

(I really like my current Razer keyboard however I feel like for the £150 that you would be spending I might as well get a keyboard that isn't made from plastic, hence why I was looking at other brands)

Some important info:

     I like RGB

I use all 5 macros on my current keyboard (but i dont need any more)

I would like a USB pass through (dont care about audio pass through)

Thanks

The K70 is basically a cut down more affordable K95. The current model doesn't have macros, but you could have a look on ebay/craigslist/etc for a previous model.

EDIT: I got one recently and it's really good. Also has rgb + USB passthrough

Yeah I have used a k70 once before as my brother has one. It seems good but there are some things about it that I dont like such as the wrist rest that may rule it out for me.

Thanks though, I never thought of going for the RGB model of the k70

It's removable. I like it on but you can adjust the height of the keyboard with 2 sets of feet, one front one back.

No worries.

So would you recommend Corsair keyboards? Ive never personally owned one but after the situation with my old power supply im a bit worried. Especially since the Corsair customer service absolutely terrible

Yeah, from the ones I've used they are some of the best on the market in terms of build quality and reliability. They're certainly not the cheapest, but they're well made and comfortable to use. Also, the RGB profiles are amazing. There are a lot you can download on the internet and it's astonishing how great they look, and how complex they can be.

Yeah the Corsair software looks a lot more advanced than Razer Synapse. Do you think the RGB lighting is bright enough on your keyboard? Ive seen some reviews saying that the k95 platinums RGBs were more dull than others on the market (im just assuming they use the same RGBs as the k70s)

I use razer synapse for my Kraken 7.1s (utter trash, can't wait to replace them with a Void headset) and my Deathadder (quite good, but getting old now).

In my experience, razer synapse is rubbish compared to Corsair CUE, and in terms of lighting only has a few options.

As for brightness, it's fine for me and quite bright in a dark room.

ok, thanks for all your help ? One thing I cant wait for if i do decide to get the Corsair k95 Platinum over the k70 is the onboard profiles. No longer will I have to do without macros and RGB lighting because Razer Synapse is down ?

I've had the K95 Platinum for a few months now and it's amazeballs. RGB through Corsair Link is excellent and I can say with confidence that it's the best keyboard on the market at least until that HyperX one comes out. Cherry MX switches are so much better than the razer keyshitches.

Thanks. I like the look of the K95 platinum a lot but I just wanted to check on here to see how good/reliable it was before spending £200 on another item that corsair would need to refund ?

Thanks for the help
