Super Computer Idea

Djmeeksmaster

I really wish Linus could do a ‘build a supercomputer’. I am studying Aviation Engineering, and would love to see Linus make a PC inside a Turbo Fan Jet engine, using the intake and exhaust as a cooling option.

More like, it's just a computer.

As an avgeek and maybe one day even a commercial pilot (I love both computers and planes), I'd absolutely adore to see LTT do something like this.

However...have you seen the prices on a turbofan engine? They are far from cheap...and I'm not entirely sure how you could build a computer in one without somewhat extensive knowledge of how a turbofan works. Not saying it isn't possible, but I'm not sure that kind of stuff is in LTT's wheelhouse.

Resident smart (car) fanatic and lover of trijet airliners. One day you'll probably see me on one of those "Hoarders" shows, only I'm buried under a pile of 50 smart cars.

Supercomputers are essentially multi-node servers all interconnected together. The definition is kind of vague, since a supercomputer from 20 years ago, is likely less powerful than your desktop.

LTT could do a video on supercomputers, by visiting one (I think they did that actually). They could also do a video on building a cluster or server farm (though it wouldn't really be a "supercomputer" by today's standards.
