3 pin fan hub

wdodge0912

I'm looking for a fan hub, one that is powered (SATA or Molex I'm willing to adapt) and hooks into my motherboard's 1 3-pin header to control 4 3-pin fans.

I've been googling and just can't find one. I know my board does control the 1 exhaust fan it has in it's current case, but I am swapping it into a newer case and would like to be able to use more fans, as I have some new ones just laying around.

I did find a sata powered internal fan controller with a high, low and off settings. I guess if I can't find a hub that'll work, I'll just get one of those for the 4 fans I want controlled. (I do plan to have 2 fans hooked directly to the PSU and always be on)

there are those that you can have with your 5,25" like this one http://www.deepcool.com/product/dcoolingaccessory/2013-12/12_664.shtml

and as for fan hub, there's one also from deepcool costing around $5 from where I live http://www.deepcool.com/product/dcoolingaccessory/2013-12/12_663.shtml , there's also one from NZXT https://www.nzxt.com/products/grid-plus https://www.nzxt.com/products/grid ,  and Phanteks also has them http://www.phanteks.com/PH-PWHUB.html .

I'm looking for one that isn't a bay controller. I want the motherboard to control them, even though they will all be the same volts.

the bottom ones are more like what I'm looking for, but they all use a 4 pin on the motherboard, and I only have a 3 pin on the board. Will those still work?

The Grid+ uses the usb header on your motherboard and CAM software for control but the rest rely on a 4pin pwm signal for fan speed.

What motherboard are you using and what case are you getting?

I have an older Dell XPS 8300 I'm transplanting into a Raidmax Viper GX. I'm not sure what board the xps has, but it only has 1 3 pin header, plus a 3 pin for the cpu cooler.

it's looking more and more like I just need a new board, or something to just reduce the speed, as it'll have plenty of airflow. The fans I have are the sickleflows, the LEDs are on as long a the fans are.

As for quoting, I thought I did, but when it posted out didn't have the quote. I didn't want to double post

A new motherboard could do the trick although Sickleflows aren't good to begin with. You could replace the fan or alternatively run the fan at 5v with a molex fan adapter with the pins clipped around for ~40% rpm. http://www.silentpcreview.com/article6-page1.html

Here's a video on the physical process:

There's always the option to edit your post and add an @ tag btw.
