Dust could be shorting the PSU. Try to clean it a bit, without touching the insides of the PSU. So maybe a high powered duster.

I would say try to reseat components then, but that probably won't work.

It is quite strange then. Have you overclocked at all?

I have a similar problem on my PC, and I haven't fixed it yet. My PSU's brand new, and I'll watch this thread for potential solves.

Really strange. Maybe Reset CMOS? Might help if a setting has gone wrong. Either that or the PSU is starting to die.

Go to Windows Logs.. Then System logs.. There you'll get a list.

That'll help us see what's up with the computer..

Windows makes a record of all events and crashes. So it should be in the event viewer.

Is this Windows 7, 8 or 10?

Windows 10

You have another PC you could use it on?

I want you to go open the event viewer. Just search for it in the start menu.

Then go through the list and find a time where your computer shut off and restarted. There should be an event logged. Most likely a critical one. Click on it to get more details. Then show us what it says.

That way we can see what happens when the computer shuts down.

A lot of errors involving "Detected unrecognized USB driver (\Driver\usbfilter)."
