unRAID sata expansion questions

I remember linus said that unRAID didn't behave well with his lsi raid cards in jbod mode. Is this a problem for some who is just making a small NAS with unraid and needs more sata ports? If so are there certain cards i could use with unRAID?

If you're using unraid, I don't think there's any value in buying raid cards. To expand mine, I bought the cheapest random SATA PCIe card on ebay, or was it Amazon, and it was detected and worked as more standard ports.

ok i just wanted to make sure that there wasn't any weird interactions with unRAID
