290x vs 970 in 2017?

290x blower style but i can buy some cheap AIO for a grand total of $160 or Gtx 970 dual fan for $140

 

NOTE:

Im a miner so I want the card that is better for mining tnx

 

NOTE 2:

How bad is the 3.5gb of 970? Im planning on playing 2k- 4k DSR on some games with it. Does AMD have DSR too?

For mining, right now, neither card, the R9 290X eats a ton of power and the currencies aren't high enough to support the cost. For the GTX 970, I won't do much at UHD, it's not powerful enough for it to be worth it.

so 970 for 1080p then??? is 3.5gb enough for 1080p???

290x is the better card. It's faster jn both gaming and mining.
