And he showed an overclocked r3 1200 (3.8 GHz i think), which means r3 1300x will perform even worse than that.

what about the ryzen 5 1600/x

1600 has 6 cores, it will be better than your i5.

yes, get ryzen 1400 (4/8) or ryzen 1600 (6/12)

1400 and even 1500x aren't much better to be honest.

all ryzen 3 cpus will be a downgrade, the 1400 and 1500x will be sidegrades and the 1600 series and above will be an upgrade. if you're just gaming, an i7 47xx or e3 123x v3 will be a better upgrade.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

i'd love a 4th gen i7, but they are quite rare in Australia

i looked.. the cheapest i've found is $420 but its part of a pc

Also. I'm looking for a new PSU (because my current one is actually one of the worst things ever)

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Thermaltake-Smart-Series-RGB-LED-500W-80-Plus-White-Certified-Power-Supply-PSU-/362045422759?epid=25005818217&hash=item544b96bca7:g:95YAAOSwxppZcXUM

is that good ??

keeping in mind it'd be $64 because of 20% off code

not sure about the quality of that PSU, I'd get a cx450m instead unless you can find a review of it.

More of a side-grade.

Ryzen 3 are roughly Haswell i5s, Ryzen 5 quad-cores are roughly Haswell i7s.

Then you have DDR3 vs DDR4, exact amount of cache, this game, that benchmark, etc, but that is the ballpark.
