Programs Listed in Programs and Features

Can anyone tell me why applications that I uninstalled are still listed in my programs and features list?

Instructions for frustration management:  

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

 

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

you may need to restart your pc to clear them, that or its a bug...

Uninstalling software that you no longer use does not necessarily get rid of all the files.  I came across the Revo Uninstaller and it works great and gives you the option of removing everything associated with the program to be removed.  There is a FREE edition so check it out.  Wish it had been around when I was getting rid of Nortons.

ok, must be a bug. I have noticed that it happens from time to time in each version of windows. It will eventually clear out unless another member has a solution I don't know what to to say.

Some software devs don't test their uninstaller. And it sucks. Basically it doesn't delete the entry in the registry. You can use CCleaner to delete the entry from the list. But usually large software companies do things better on that front, where they actually test things, so it should not happen with those.

I used it...... long story short, I had to reinstall and start fresh with Win 7. Kind of a yay moment but kind of a screw you moment. Never going to use that program again.
