Are 900 Series GTX (And The Like) Still Good Budget GPU's?

Volework

Hey everyone! Volework here.

I'll keep it short and sweet.

So, I've managed to collect around $550 to play with for some new computer parts, and I'm really leaning on Newegg's Early BTS Sale and Refurbished parts if I can to get the best "Bang For Your Buck."

What I'm really looking for are parts that I can keep for at least 2 - 4 years and still be able to play new releases fairly well, around  50 - 60 FPS on High, with some tweaking.
So, that leads me to the question for my GPU: Are GTX 900 Series / R7 300 Series / R9 200 Series still good (I think I got the hierarchy's right...)? What do you guys recommend?

290 = 390 ~= 970

do whatever is within your PSU limits and is cheapest.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

If you can get a good 980Ti or 980 that'd be kick ass.

1060 is equiv to 980 and 1070 is 980Ti.

Downside is power consumption.

390/x is just rebranded 290/x.

idk

Purchase a 1070 on credit card so you can make the minimum payments every month.

The prices havent fallen much yet for the 900 series.

assuming the OP can afford payments, and the payments the OP can make isn't going to be finishing to pay it off in about 10 years time, because of interest, You really want to be able to pay the entire debit off within 3 months max with a credit card, as most cards give you about that length of time interest free
