Best / Fastest SSD for high end (~2000€) system

A good place to start looking is the Samsung 960 EVO (or Pro) series.

Hey Guys;

I just wanted to ask what the best or fastest ssd currently available to consumers at a reasonable price is.. It is very confusing for me with all these different interfaces and all the new stuff like optane or whatever coming out.. I am trying to build a new system around the new i7-7800X and I thought about getting the ROG STRIX Mainboard from ASUS.. I probably don't want to buy the new SSD now, since my old one still works fine, but i just want to have a reasonable upgrade path in like 1 year or even 6 months to slot in a blazing fast ssd (probably around 500GB) then. Is there a better motherboard for me to get (The RGB part is pretty nice, so i would love to use that board) ? And what kind of SSD am i looking for ?

Thanks for your help !
