Color calibration

Hi, i'm a noob at monitor calibration. 
How do i tune my monitor to display colors as accuratly as possible?

I own an HP w2207.

For software calibration, just open up the start menu (in windows) and type "color calibration" and the first option should be calibrate display. Then just follow the on screen instructions. This is what I do 99% of the time.

 

If you REALLY need to adjust anything else, you can simply use the buttons on the monitor to tweak a few things.
