The woman whose headphones caught fire during a February flight from Beijing, China to Melbourne, Australia was wearing a pair of AAA-powered Beats, according to the Australian Associated Press. What’s more, the report states that a representative for Apple, which bought Beats in 2014, told the woman’s lawyer that the company’s investigation into the incident blames the use of a “third-party battery" for the cause of the explosion, though it’s unclear what that means. Apple has not responded to a request for comment.

Well this is horrible and yet another case of battery explosions. The technology industry better take a better stance on batteries. Battery manufacturer have got to make sure that this kind of stuff never happens. The cause for this incident by the looks of it was an old pair of Beats that used AAA batteries and the batteries that this user used malfunctioned an exploded. However this is all based of Apple's own investigation.

By third party do the mean Energizer or Duracell or something? Cause those aren't exactly bad batteries, but I imagine faulty products you stick them into would make any battery explode. Then again if she did buy cheap Chinese batteries from eBay then that might be at fault too, but saying 'third party' doesn't help anything
