What Mobo Should I Get For the Ryzen 5 1500X?

So I have been debating on getting a ryzen, and I decided to might as well go ahead and do it. Im planning on getting the Ryzen 1500X along with a GTX 1060. I have no clue what mobo I should get though, so can I get a bit of assistance? I am still very new to the PC master race, as you can see with my current pc specs. Thank you! These forums are great!

Any B350 mobo with 4 RAM slots and with good RAM compatiblity (check out mobo website to learn more)

Get a R5 1400 instead as 1500x is almost like a 1400 with higher clock speed with same core count

Number of cores/threads is the same, but the 1500x has the double amount of L3 cache. If I were you I would get a 1600 for the extra cores (6/12). But that depends if you manage to fit that into your budget.

 

EDIT: Furthermore, the 1600/1500x comes with a much better cooler than the 1400.

Currently the extra 2 cores won't affect your gaming experience by much as most games are not optimised to use so many cores/threads, but in the future I am sure it will come in handy.

 

For editing the 1600 is a clear winner as the extra computing performance is definitely going to help in encoding and rendering.

 

If you can squeeze the 1600 into your build, it would be quite a nice upgrade.
