Hi all it has been almost a year since the last post. Any new thunderbolt 3 enclosures that we can use when an NVMe drive?

Thanks a lot :)

Thanks but I strictly need TB3 because USB3 speeds will make using NVMe pointless.

I found these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S88HGB9/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2ZS9XZ9DW5X20&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QY9V2KM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A3MJNIGJ08V121&psc=1

What do you guys think? The device will be bottlenecked by the device put inside no? Because if I am not wrong TB3 can provide up to 40Gbps.

I don't see any bottleneck link here, TB3 can provide up to 40 Gbit/s (4.88 GB/s) as you know and the M.2. SSDs will be x2 lanes or x4 lanes in PCIe Gen 3 or 4 and none of them will exceed TB3. Except for those M.2 built on a PCIe Gen4 x4.

Thanks I meant whatever I put inside the TB3 enclosure will max the device speed coz no NVMe device can exceed 40Gbps no? That was what I meant.

You are correct if we were in 2018! But with the launch of NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen 4 x4 SSD drives you could find units that in theory are a little faster than 40 Gbit/s (4.88 GB/s). But only those built in PCIe Gen 4, the generation of PCIe 3 is more than enough for anyone and personally I don't think I need PCIe Gen 4 or the upcoming PCIe Gen 5 next year.
