CPU support list for 672M01-8KSH

Ok so, I bought a cheap Foxconn 672M01-8KSH motherboard a while back as well as a Pentium e5200. For some reason, the e5200 does not work with this motherboard so I then bought an e2160 and that works perfectly fine but it isn't the kind of Spec CPU I want to use on this motherboard.

Can someone tell me what CPU(s) actually works with the motherboard as I can't find much on it? I think and e6500 works but I could be wrong...

Thanks, Brennan Price

Now, I'm not sure, but I think your E5200 didn't worked because it is newer CPU and your board has old BIOS, which doesn't support it.

According to this:

http://www.ascendtech.us/foxconn-672m01-8ksh-intel-motherboard_i_mbfox672m018ksh.aspx

it supports CPUs with 800 MHz FSB:

Core 2 duo

Pentium D / Pentium Dual Core

Pentium 4 / Celeron D

Celeron

Look here:

http://ark.intel.com/products/37212/Intel-Pentium-Processor-E5200-2M-Cache-2_50-GHz-800-MHz-FSB

http://ark.intel.com/products/29739/Intel-Pentium-Processor-E2160-1M-Cache-1_80-GHz-800-MHz-FSB

Compare them:

E2160, q3 06, 65nm, "Conroe"

E5200, q3 08, 45nm, "Wolfdale"

Last year boards with Z170 after BIOS update supports new Kaby Lake CPUs, Without that BIOS update, Kaby Lake CPUs wouldn't work in them.

So my guess is that only older 65nm CPUs with 800MHz (max) will work in that board.

Now, I cannot guarantee, that this will find you compatible CPU, but it is close enough.

Go to http://ark.intel.com/, click on "Find products by feature" and then choose this filters:

Socket supported: LGA775

Bus speed: 800 Mhz FSB

# of cores: min/max 2

Lithography: min/max 65nm

Apparently, Foxconn does have some sort of support site, however, there is no mention of your board.

http://www.foxconnsupport.com/cpusupportlist.aspx?type=mb&model=BLACKOPS&cputype=

Where are you going to buy CPU for it? Locally or through EBAY? If locally, try ask them if you could bring your board to test if it works.

Wow thank you very much!! I thought it was possibly the fact that is Conroe VS Wolfdale which made all the difference. I will likely buy through eBay as I can find the cheaper deals out there plus a wider range. I also know the board works as I have tested it with the e2160 like I said...
