and still work perfectly fine in a desktop. There is nothing special about nas drives that won't make them bad desktop drives.

wd blue is 5,400 and the black or the barracuda pro is 7,200 rpm

that isn't a difference?.

blue 6tb then, thanks.

What if I want a 8tb or 10tb drive?, which one do you recommend me?, barracuda pro?.

I have 4TB of files and 1TB of games, I think 6TB is not enough for a few months of more games coming...

normally i say get the cheaper new drive. There basically the same.

With those sizes of drives, id get a few smaller ones rather than one big one.

the thing is that I have 1x 4tb and another one of 1TB and my case only has 1 hdd cage with 2x spaces for 2x hdd

I need a bigger hdd to remove the 1tb model

When I benchmark a WD red 5400 rpm drive it peaks at 150 MB/s r/w speed and averages at around 125Mb/s read 105 write; which is actually better than all of my older 7200 rpm drives.

i came here to find out if anyone can confirm if the new WD blacks sound like jack hammers.

From expereince   had 2 -1TB WD fail.  Oh they did give me free replacments under their warranty but what a hassle!  I only buy  Seagate.  They have excellent customer service.

Hi from the official Seagate forum team! Thank you so much for your comment! The Seagate Barracuda drive you mentioned is a good option for gaming, Seagate also has a higher-performance option called FireCuda that you may also want to consider. We wish you happy gaming!
