"ASUS ROG STRIX-RX470-O4G-GAMING Graphics Card or ASUS Radeon DUAL-RX480-O4G 4GB GDDR5 Graphics Card" which is better?

nz_nAJ

ASUS ROG STRIX-RX470-O4G-GAMING Graphics Card and ASUS Radeon DUAL-RX480-O4G 4GB GDDR5 Graphics Card  have a similar price in my area. I am basically want to make a workstation and also it is my first build. So I am not good at picking up the right thing. So if you think there are more good possible option for video card then please help me by recommending those. Those should be at this price range.

or just help me to figure out this:

ASUS ROG STRIX-RX470-O4G-GAMING Graphics Card or ASUS Radeon DUAL-RX480-O4G 4GB GDDR5 Graphics Card which is better?

and

Would Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 470 8G GDDR5 Graphics Card be a good option?

and

What about Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 480 4 GDDR5 Graphics Card as it costs significantly less than mentioned three?

RX480 is better everytime, as for which is better its probably not going to make a whole lots of difference, the more expensive card that has high clockspeed will probably only have a few fps higher but nothing noticeable.  Pick the best one you can afford and get an 8gb vram model if you can.

It depends on the workload, if it requires lots of vram then the 8 gb 470 one is the better one, no point in having a strong processing unit if the vram cant keep up. If 4 gb is enough for now and in the future then of course go for the rx 480 as it has more computing power. I have a sapphire nitro + at 4gb and love it myself.

I will mostly do video editing, photo editing and graphics design. Sometimes I also do some bit of the AutoCAD but never much. I am not a gaming guy. So what you think then?

I honestly would lean towards the RX480, i am a bit biased since like i said i find the Sapphire nitro to be a fantastic card but since they are close in price its just better to get the stronger one since its not like your planning on upgrading very often :p.

I heard that sapphire nitro+ is not good at cooling and becomes hot in a very small time plus it makes noises. Is it right? Sorry if I bother you with my bad English and stupid question?

From the tasks you described your looking at around 2gb vram usage max, the computing power of the 480 definitely helps more. As for temps, its because is designed to prioritize silence, but i never had mine go above 76c.

thanks buddy
