EVGA PSU Doesn't Like Rebooting

Fellow Techies,

Has anyone had any problems with the G2 PSUs not wanting to power back on after a shutdown or rebooting? I have to unplug mine after every shutdown and wait sometimes 30 minutes. What would be causing this? It does it no matter if there is a part overclocked or not.

Instructions for frustration management:  

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

 

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

Something is setting off a protection of the power supply. When this happens, it may latched off - requiring you to either cycle the power switch or unplug the PSU like you did.

What I don't get, is that I changed MBs so it can't be the problem.... cpu or ram?

 

The PSU hadn't done this until I plugged it into a UPS that I am replacing due to it being flaky.

Could it be because I have just one wire going to my GPU (GTX 980)? One GPU header for the dual six pin.

I purchased a Corsair 80 plus Gold RM650x PSU. No problems so far and I have restarted and turned on and off a lot since I installed it. Problem solved. RMA with EVGA here we come.
