Ath-m30x + mod or Ath-m40x

So should i buy an m30x then mod it so it'll have detachable cable that only cost $2, or save up for an m40x which is $20 more expensive than the m30x?

I heard M40X are better than 30 and 20. 

For me personally i prefer 40x than the 50x, atleast they have better soundstage and is not too bassy.

The 40X earcups rotate if you care about that sort of thing. They also lack the exposed wires on the headband, which could add another point of failure on the 30X.

 

Personally, I would just get the 40X. You'll keep your warranty that way, too.
