Random thing I learned today.

corrado33

I was typing a sentence today that ended in an italicized word. So, I wondered to myself, does italicizing a period change it at all? So I blew up the text very large and typed a few periods. I suppose the answer to the musing would depend on the font used, as the experiment replicated below showed different results than my original test.

In Word, using Times, a normal period and an italicized period are identical. However, a bold period and a bold italicized period are different. All 4 are different below.

Normal Period: .

Italicized Period: .

Bold Period: .

Bolt Italicized Period: .
