Got my hands on a bunch of Seagate Cheetah 15k.6 server drives. Need help figuring out how to use them.

So I have 8 of these drives and was wondering what I would need in order to get them tested/running on a standard desktop? I assume I will need a PCIe controller to run them but am not sure exactly what I need.

 

From what I can gather from the user manual, it uses a J1 Fibre Channel SCA attachment with 40pins? What kind of controller/adapter should I be looking for? Any advice?

I've got some very similar drives in an old dell poweredge server that's lying around

I doubt you can use them. Unless you get the hardware for them. I'd recommend looking some PCI-E/PCI

I found this page with some fibre channel drive adapters that go to several other interfaces (fibre cable, DB9, PTP, etc). Would I need something like that, then a PCIe card for the interface (like a fibre channel, or DB9 PCIe card?)

 

I can't seem to find any sort of simple adapter from the drive interface to something I'm more familiar with (PCIe, SATA, even USB or whatever).

Yea, I wouldn't buy those. Just use them as a reference for what I should be looking for.

I'm not sure how to connect these to a standard desktop. I have the Seagate Cheetah 15K.7 drives which use a SAS connector. By any chance do these drives use the Ultra SCI 320 interface?
