Curved if you can afford it, flat if you can't. There are pros/cons of each.

What are said pros or cons? a curved quantum dot monitor is only 40$ more, and I can afford it.

Since I dont think that there are any 16:9 curved monitors, I wouldn't get the curved. The extra real estate is useless in competitive FPS games, even in the games that do support it (Overwatch for example just stretches your screen instead of increasing your FOV). Your natural FOV won't allow you get much use out of it.

That's just useless. Curves are only useful for ultrawide (21:9) monitors. That monitor is just a gimmick and that curve serves absolutely no purpose......unless you're a mouse sized human.

I would say no to curved at 24 with 1920x1080.

however I recently boucht a curved 34 with 3440x1440 - makes a lot of sense on big screens when you are close enough.

you can google the pros and cons of curved yourself. the whole forum taken together wouldn't come up with sth. new or agree on anything anyway :-)

There are pros/cons for personal preferences. Curved is good, but flat is still good also. Curved gives you better viewing angles in my opinion.

Well, it has Quantum dot too, even a 21.5 inch monitor is big to me, :P I've seen a 24 inch curved monitor in best buy, I actually like it.

To me it feels more fluid when i play my games, this is only my personal preference though. So if you are used to a change then you can most definitely make that change, the good thing about monitors is you can make your own choice when choosing.

That's way too expensive for a 24 inch monitor. I get that it's new tech and that's why it's expensive, but that is not worth it IMO.

Well, back to the quantum dot bit, and there is a dell 1440p 165hz monitor for 50$ more than the samsung curved stuff

I would only get curved on a large monitor. large monitor also means you should get higher resolution. if you're an FPS gamer you should also get a higher refresh rate.

So the question you should be asking yourself isn't "should I get a curved screen?" but rather, "can I afford an X34 or PG348Q?"

I don't think curved is the way to go for you.

The curved monitor Im looking at is 144hz 1ms response with quantum dot, and its 40$ more, and same resolution as the flat panel, No I can't afford an X34, I have 340 ish, and I can maybe get to 400 with some luck

If I can manage to get the monitor at all, I have 340$ and I'm gonna have to beg my parents, already taking out a loan from a friend, keeping in mind, I'm 14, and I have a GTX 970, so 1440p is a stretch.

You'd be better of spending that on a GSync monitor.

Now because I am now thinking about getting that dell, how do I overclock it? I want that 165hz because I aint no scrub with 144hz, even if I can't run it.
