LED strips - Getting them to stick on a monitor

I have a lot of trouble getting my led strips to stick to the back of my monitor. I tried the 3M strip that was preapplied on the back of the LEDs and feels extremely sticky on skin,TESA and more TESA but they just always fall of dragged down by there own weight. I have no idea how to semi permanently attach them. I want to be able to remove them without any left over glue or marks if possible but I also want them to stay where I put them a week ago :/
Please halp meh, I am not gud with sticky stuv ;)

TESA tape should work quite well unless it's just getting too warm for it, 3M makes a really good exterior mounting tape that can withstand hot and cold very well:

You could try Gaffer Tape, it's pretty sticky, and doesn't leave residue behind, though it is a bit expensive. https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Premium-Grade-Gaffer-Power/dp/B00TQ7DQU4?th=1 The only downside is you'd have to put strips over top of the LED strip, not just behind it.

Otherwise, some stronger double sided tape would be the best bet.

The problem might be that the strip came rolled and is very stiff so if i stick it flat it slowly peels of in about a week or so. As I said the 3M that was preapplied is super sticky but ... apparently not enough.

Most of the 3M stuff is not the legit stuff on those LED strips espically the ones off Amazon or eBay they are just labeled as such.

That is a good idea, I might have a source where I can get some without forking out 10-15€ for one role just to use 20cm of it.

I bought it directly from a german store. The brand is pretty much some unknown whatever and the price was ok. I wouldn't trust the ebay stuff but from a local well known store :/

Might just have trouble then grabbing onto the surface of the monitor the thicker foam stuff should be able to fill in any textured surfaces or such to hold on, other option if you have handy is using some hot melt glue, you can easily peel it offif you want to remove it from the monitor without damaging the plastic.

I hotsnotted it onto the wall. Should work on plastic too

Its very unlikely that its legit 3M, especially if its falling off.

Replace it with 3M VHB tape, extremely strong yet with some work you can get it off without damaging the monitor. If you want to grab it locally I believe its marketed as moulding tape at auto parts stores.

I've hot glued a lot of my strips in place, as long as you use the "super strength" high melt sticks it works great. Any low melt glues will fail as the LEDs can melt it.

I have yet to try it, but I assume 3M command strips would work as well.

You could try attaching then to a thin syrup of aluminum or steel with a strong adhesive then attach the strip to the monitor, it should be easier.  Velcro can also be used.
