Tell us more what exactly isn't working. No connection at all, login problems, etc.? Can you ping it?

What router is it (brand, model)?

Are you sure you have the right Submask? Have you typed in IPCONFIG in the cmd prompt to check it? I made that mistake a lot. I called my ISP and they told me many people have made that mistake.

Run ipconfig from your PC via command prompt.

You'll get a result looking like the following:

Network conection type

IPv4 address: 10.0.10.32

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway: 10.0.0.1

It's that last part that's cruical - that's the next hop in your network. What that means is that unless the device you're trying to connect to is on the LAN, it defaults traffic to there. This can be a switch however in your environment will be a router.

Depending on your webbrowser you may need to try http:// or https:// before the address.

If you don't get a result like above, it means you're not on the correct subnet. What you'll need to do is check the default settings for the device (usually found on a sticker on the bottom) - this will list the defualt IP address. You'll then need to go into your network connection properties and manually define your IP address.

Eg if your router has a default address of 192.168.10.1, you need to set your PC to be on 192.168.10._ where the last digit is any number other than the same as the router.

Hopefully this makes sense.

OP: Win Key+R then type in CMD when that box opens type in IPCONFIG and find the 'default gateway' and type THAT into the address bar of your browser :)

That reminds me, have you set your pc's setting to automatically obtain a IP address? If you did that, use the default gateway number.

the result was

IPv4 Address : 192.168.1.22

Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway : 192.168.1.254

i always use default ip in my router.

but later for http:// or https://, because i'm at home now, tomorrow i will check that

i usually use the default gateway to open router page, but now it can't be done

Have you added another router/gateway into your network at all?

If you did they could potentially be conflicting IP addresses and that's why you can't get into the webGUI anymore as it doesn't know which ine you want... just a theory, it's happened to me before when I added a second router to my network to act as an access point.

If so then dis-connect the new router from the network, attach a cable from your computer to it and ienter it's webGUI and change the gateway address to something else, and also change it to not give out ip addresses DHCP as that could cause conflicts with your main router too. Dis-connect and re-attach to the network and it should be good now and you can get into the main routers webGUI again.

i just using a single router. maybe the high load caused the webGUI to error.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The problem is gone now.

i just have to restart router manually by plugging out the adaptor then immidiately connect to webGUI. then:

> increase the ip pool

> decrease the lease time

>increase wifi beacon interval

thank you all for all your answer. i really appreciate that

Glad you got your problem sorted. I have just spent around 5 hours setting up my new ISP settings. It should have been a case of simply adjusting settings to ISP ones, looked on forums beforehand to be pre-warned, and the conclusion was that they used PPPoA for encapsulation and that they used a username for login that didn't matter as long as you had the @btbroadband.com part, or use homehub@btbroadband.com.

So after trying both of those, with and without passwords also... and then assuming I had done something wrong and checking re-checking my settings. I ended up having to install the ISP modem/router, after trying for around 4 hours of trying to set up their router to combine with my router, so that I wouldn't have to change everything.... but getting nowhere as they seemed to work, but upon testing would either not give me internet connection or not allow me to connect with my servers etc... I decided to have another quick browse for settings in case I missed something... anyway after all this turns out that they had wrong info on about 5 different sites.

Should have been:

bthomehub@btbroadband.com

- nothing for password

and using PPPoE

That's it, and what I had tried in the first bloody place, except for the bt in front of homehub@btbroadband.com. 5 damn hours wasted because of bad info. I was not amused in the slightest, lol
