if you can afford it, go with the 1060.

If those are your only two choices, I would get the GTX 1060 just because it has 6GB of VRAM and thus will have higher resale value later on. Although AMD cards do tend to age better than their Nvidia counterparts so if you plan on holding onto your card for awhile, I would actually get the RX 480 card instead and go with the 8GB variant.

The FPS difference between these cards from benchmarks I saw is around 5-6...

Yo the performance is almost the same. It's not worth 100 EUR just because it's a 1060. Definitely go for the 480

If the prices are the same, the 1060 is superior. However, I will say that MSI has terrible customer support so keep that in mind. If you go to my profile and look back into the things I've posted you can find a thread I made about my annoying experiences with them

The 1060 is slightly superior to the 480 and GeForce Experience is MUCH better than AMD's crap. However, that's quite a price difference so do some research on GeForce Experience and see if it means that much to you

At those prices,  480 all the way. No competition.

that's the one. Also, you might be limited to a crappy version of GFE due to a really old GPU that you have but maybe not idk
