it better have the new version of the 6820HQ and not the new version of the 6700HQ. So if it has the second lowest i7, then I might give it a look.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

I somehow doubt, especially if it has to handle cooling Pascal.

This is the old p640, right?: https://www.gentechpc.com/Sager-NP8640-Clevo-P640-RE-nVidia-GTX970M-3GB-p/sager-np8640-s.htm

If they do a total redesign, I'd be in. I need good battery life, build quality, and TB3 in a package that is under 4.5lbs. Price is no object.

That is.

You're probably looking for an ultrabook there, to be honest.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

well you know me, I put the CPU above the GPU for my use case, so I don't care if there is a 1050, 1050ti or a 1060 in it, just as long as the CPU is better than a 6700HQ.

I know. I think a strong GPU with a weaksauce CPU is trash. I simply mean that it probably won't be well cooled, or it'll be thick or heavy. The best of both worlds doesn't exist, sadly.

oh thickness is not a problem (for me atleast, I use a ThinkPad...) and as long as it isn't a 3kg monster, then I don't care.

Yeah, but most people aren't going to buy a super-thick laptop. I still stand by the original statement I had, 14" mobile pascal is not going to be a pretty sight.

Oh well, if Clevo is being un-lazy and redesigning a model then I have no complaints. If it's using a 1050Ti that's even better.

A 1050ti would be neat, really neat.

So far 14" pascal laptops have been bad, but I do hope that Clevo isn't lazy, a improved P640 would be nice, sure it is most likely going to be thick and have a meh battery life (even for gaming laptop).

IDK why, but 14" have always been my go to, never really liked 15,6".

There are only two laptops that can get me away from 14" and that is the P70 and the XPS15.

Yes I am not like most people, but I also think most people are stupid, because they put form over function.

LOL I mean look at the Aorus, Razer, MSI versions. It would be interesting to see if Clevo can pull off a 1060 in that chassis. 7820HQ + 1060 + TB3? Please. Somehow I doubt they're going to put TB3 or 1060 in it. 7820HQ yes.

Yeah. I hope clevo isn't lazy. Because the entire current PxxxDMx line is lazy as hell. It wasn't designed for Pascal and way too much modding is required to make things "acceptable". And they even have throttle-by-design for the DM3 when CPU and GPUs are stressed. I'm getting tired of saying "at least we have Prema".

Yeah, I think that's the best situation. It's nVidia's bad making such hot cards. Prema sounded rather annoyed at them earlier.

yeah I saw that today. He does not seem happy at all. I just want the price point to be fair, so I can afford one.

Right now, because I am starting on a engineering school mid next year, I care about CPU performance, build quality and battery life, not so much about the dGPU, since I have a desktop for gaming and well I hate gaming on a laptop.

So if they make a 1050 and a 1050ti version, then I am going for the 1050, simply because it would be cheaper.

H-series cpu or GTFO! I don't care if it's an iris or even HD gpu as long as the cpu is rock solid. I can upgrade everything else.

It's not impossible to get a quadcore ultrabook. People are just idiotic and don't do it because they'd actually have to work on cooling and seriously engineer the insides to a great degree. And it'd be slightly loud.

Intel released their timeline of Kaby Lake CPUs a while ago. They have no manys in upgrading anything in the Kaby Lake lineup beyond the HD620. HD540 and HD550 will still be the best iGPUs until Cannon/Coffeelake
