Mechanical keyboard after spill

Petulak

So I own Steelseries 6GV2 and I've spilled a little of coke on it, I've cleaned it up numerous times but 2 keys and mainly spacebar keeps somewhat sticking and being harder to press (especially when it's colder). I'm mainly concerned about the spacebar, is there way to restore the switch functionality to somewhat normal? I've used Ethanolum 60%, what should I try? I wouldn't mind to swap the switch with Scroll Lock one or any other.

Thanks

Have you tried doing a full disassembly to clean it more deeply? I mean remove every keycap, unscrew every screw and separate the PCB from the outer shell.

Strip the 6Gv2 down man. I've done unspeakable things to my 6Gv2 lol

that keyboard is the AK47 of mechanical keyboards. Do anything you want to it man it'll live.

Crank it open and clean the spilled area with alcohol and it'll work.

Don't use ethanol, you can tear down the keyboard and try using some 99% isoporpyl alcohol to help displace the coke and any sticky residue that may be left on or in the switches.

I didn't take it apart yet, it was only few drops but the keyboard is really clean, it's inside the switch :/ Does the substance matter that much? If it does I'll just go out and buy the 99% isoporpyl and take the keyboard apart.

Ethanol may be a little strong depending on the plastic it can etch or melt the surface, the isopropyl shouldn't affect the plastic and will evaporate very quickly.
