Laptop Slow, WD Black Halp

You could try fragmenting hard drive. Is it actually 5 minutes or does it just feel like that? Anyways, I would highly recommend SSD if you can get one.

The laptop's optical bay doesn't support storage drives :(

The laptop was 20 bucks because it is absolutely trashed.IMG_20161012_211742.jpg14763023314181086647356.jpg

Honestly, I cant really help you. I can tell you though that if your laptop does have a CD drive spot, you can remove it and put and ssd in. Might want to get a bracket for it though.

here two different holders that should work

sorry I can't help you :/

Do a clean install of windows 10, it will make it much faster.

I've already got a bracket, HP decided to lock out anything not optical from being used in that port.

Hi there :)

Have you tried running WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic? Could you post the S.M.A.R.T. status with the raw values?

What is the model number of the drive and the laptop's model?

Those speeds aren't really that slow of this is an older mobile HDD, but 5 minutes is a bit too long. Try resetting the BIOS and see if there's a firmware update for it.
