Vintage speaker wiring help

The Flying Sloth

So a friend dropped off a box with

2x 5' 4ohn 40watt RMS woofers (Jaycar CW-2102)

2x  Philips 8 Ohm AD 01610 T8 Tweeter
2x https://www.amazon.com/uxcell®-Axial-Ceramic-Cement-Resistors/dp/B0087ZDGGU
2x http://www.jaycar.com.au/6-8uf-100v-electrolytic-crossover-capacitor/p/RY6906

And my question is this,
As a noob to speaker building (usually I pay a friend to build for me) how would one go about wiring these into a 2.0 channel set?
(I just don't know where the capacitors and resistors go)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I tend to remove tweeters, and the crossover circuit if present. Unless you like tinnitus. My 2 cents. If I could answer your question, I would.

Nothing is currently wired,

Why the hell are you removing tweeters?? they are a necessity in high quality speakers.
I already have R5A's (nearfield) and custom bookshelves (farfield) and was just wondering how to wire my spare drivers into a 3rd set

They typically sound better. I left them in my Klipsch but not my old KLH. You say they're necessary, but have you ever tried going without?

Yes, it was horrible. I had bose 121's and some Infinity 6' carbon drivers.
The original question was how to wire up the drivers I have laying around.
I far prefer a flat sound signiature than a treble lacking mess, that's why I bought the Pioneer 530.

But thankyou for necrobumping this month old thread without answering the question, I have since aquired a Velodyne custom 12" to run off my 3rd output channel.

You assume they would all lack without a tweeter then? Some sound no different, at all.

Mmmmkay, I'm somehow getting the feeling that you aren't deep into studio grade gear and mad about sound quality.
Yes, I could always use the 530 to EQ the speakers flat again but If they sound no different why remove the tweeter?
You'll just destroy  the engineering of the bass ports (I had a mechanical engineer design my last set of bookshelves, they were absolutely mint)
If companies (Tannoy in this case) could create the same sound without a tweeter why wouldn't they just cut costs and go without?
Or if (as you say) speakers sound better without tweeters, why do they wire them in?

You assume that because you took the tweeters out of your old set, all speakers will show the same 'improvements'

Just because you hate treble doesn't mean there is a flatter EQ  without it. I need trebles present in the studio when I'm mixing or it will come out horribly

Again, all I originally wanted to know whs where to put the capacitors on the circuit, not 'why I hate treble for dummies"

Because people like you wouldn't pay for them without tweeters. It's really that simple. Treble won't mess up a tuned bass port. Treble doesn't move enough air to affect a bass port. Sounds more like you're mad about somebody questioning your misinformation......

If you remove the tweeter there is a hole in the front of your speaker which messes up the engineering and tuning of your bass port, (you could remount after disconnecting the wiring but hy would you if you're hellbent on destroying your audio quality)

I am sorry but the misinformation is all yours, there is no point in having an opinion if it can't stand up to scrutiny and your inability to answer my questions certainly proves that further to me.

"people like me" includes EVERY sound engineer I have ever worked with as both an artist and producer, EVERY artist/group I have worked with both as  an artist and producer and EVERY audiophile I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I will say for the last time, (I am  surprised you haven't read my initial  question yet really, month old thread and just now you necrobump to come and tell me that tweeters are stupid?)

ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS HOW TO WIRE A SET OF DAMN SPEAKERS WITH CAPACITORS AS CROSSOVERS, I DON'T CARE THAT THEY AREN'T GOING TO SOUND PERFECT, THEY ARE LAYING AROUND ON MY FLOOR AND I WOULD  LIKE A NEW 2.1 SET FOR MY SECONDARY PC (preferably INCLUDING the tweeters).

Me not having an answer proves that you're right when you don't have the answer either? lol You want to double check that logic.
