Help! I cant beat my dad at Tempest!

I'm sure a lot of you old people know that tempest is a really fun arcade game. Well my dad has never beat me at any video games before. And I wanna know the tips and tricks for winning at tempest, Any help would be appreciated!

No, GTX 1080 gives him 50/50 which is not good. He needs to get a Titan XP.
