GTX 1060 because of the better performance and better in gaming in general.

I would recommend the rx480. Better DX12/vulcan performance. Also freesync screens are way cheaper than g-sync screens. And that is also a big plus!

Well at this current time the 1060 performs better cuz most games run dx11, later down the road though games are gunna be vulkan/dx12 and thats where the RX480 does better, so you need to choose between better performance now and slight higher cost or Better performance later and cheaper cost.

If the 1060 is in your price range I'd get the 1060 over the RX 480 unless you play only Vulkan & DX12 games, which is unlikely or if you plan to add a second card down the road since the 1060 doesn't support SLI.

Depends on price difference and how long you are going to upgrade your gpu after purchase.

I looked at some prices on amazon and the price are almost the same... if that is the case i would say you should go with the 1060. Fx the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 AMP Edition.

I vote for the cheaper but you should really go with RX if you have or plan to get a free-sync monitor!

If you can afford a little bit more, I'd say go for Gtx 1070. The cheapest 1070 is about $399 on newegg. Comparing to 1060/rx 480, 1070 performs much better in 1440p or 144hz in 1080p, and be able to SLI in the future. 

 

It's for these reasons I returned my 1060 and upgraded to a 1070. So just sharing my experience with you.

If I were you I would just save a little more and buy the 1070 but if you need one now I would buy the rx480 because there will be more games on dx12 in the future.

And with the RX 480 can take advantage of crossfire for games that support it. At least some synthetic benchmarks on youtube show some promise.
