R7 370 or GTX 950?

I am currently building a budget gaming pc,

and I could not decide wether I should use the 4GB version of AMDs R7 370, or the 2GB version of Green Teams GTX 950.

So I though, why not go to Linus' community site and ask there?

Both cards have about the same price as where I buy them.

Which one would you recommend performance-wise and why?

RX 460 because it's either slight worse, the same or better depending on the game (and API).

Well between those two id take the r7 370 for gaming. But having said that you should look into the rx series or even the gtx 960 the price difference will be worth it. Still if I was at that budget I would probably look into a used gpu you can do A LOT better there.

2. Why no RX 460?

Hard, grab a 4GB 470/1060 3GB instead.

 

or a 2nd hand card of aftermarket 4GB 380/290/970.

2nd things first: Bad thing is, I don't really trust the RX460 yet, as referring to this site, it is not notably more powerful than the R7 370:  http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

1st things second :I will probably not play AAA or very new titles, with exception of Dark Souls 3, so I guess DX11.

And one more thing is, I want a as portable as I can do PC, so I'm building inside the Tt Core V1... and that means I'm a bit limited to what GPU Edition I can use. Max length is (according to description) 26cm.

I can best use MSI cards, as of now, I have come down to two cards:

MSI R7 370 4GB (25,4cm)

MSI GTX 960 2GB (25 cm)

1060 wayy cracks my budget, 170€ is highest I can go on GPU without changing my other selected parts...

I could go for a KFA2 GTX 960 OC or a MSI GTX 960 OC. Both 2GB VRAM ofc

Also, the RX 460 is in the same price range.

I am probably not going to stream, and the little Video editing I do would be no problem for my i5 and the R7.

I could go for a 2GB 960 though, but as this is my first PC Build, I am on a tight budget and I kinda trust AMD cards more...

960 is the better card, unless you play GTA V you will not need more than 2GB in most games.

Since you said you aren't going to be playing any AAA titles then I would just go for the 960. It would still be worth it to try and find a 970 for about the same price (you might be able to talk him down a bit). With the Nvidia card you will also get a few Nvidia exclusive features (the only one worth while IMO is Shadowplay).
