Intel Red and Black Build

I'm trying to get this build below 900 dollars for the pc, os, and moniter while still keeping the 16 gb of RAM, the ssd, and the motherboard be a over-clockable one for future upgrades

I want to keep the red and black ascetic

I'm going to be using this build for gaming, rendering, and schoolwork

Need some help any is great! xD:D

I'd go with Skylake and z170 so you can get a 6600k or something later, instead of z97.

Other than that, looks good.

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

you can always run windows unactivated, it gets annoying but for the time being it will suffice and do the job.

Here's a video on how to get Windows for $20. One really shouldn't be spending $84 for Windows when there are other options available.

Also on another note, you could wait a while before going for your GPU, with Polaris, Vega, and Pascal coming out. Anyway here is my build. I feel like it's balanced and has room for a 6700k or KabyLake upgrade in the future. Since you had red LED fans, I went with those, but I'd rather go for non-LED fans with some red in them and add a red LED strip. btw the cpu cooler is from amazon. I didn't go with a 6600k since not everyone is a fan of rebates and you could use the extra money elsewhere if overclocking isn't a priority.

download the ISO file from microsofts website, load it into a DVD disk, and vola you now have a free windows install disk. though i recommend that as soon as you acquire the funds to buy a windows key you do so that way its genuine. but this method is a good temporary solution to get your system up and running ASAP.

Buy windows off reddit for like ~$15 tbh. It's the same version for 1/4th the price.

Then do a Paypal Dispute. I got my Windows licence for free as a Windows "verified developer" and Windows Insider during the beta testing for Windows 8.1 and later Windows 10.

Though this is a Red Themed build, you might want to check out the MSI B150M Night Elf which has red LEDs on the board itself, plus with a non K chip, he wont be overclocking. I'd also go for the MSI version of the R9 380 as it is more visually appealing.

I'd like to make a Chemistry joke, but all the good ones ARGON. *nudgenudge *winkwink

He won't be overclocking now but he requested an OCing MOBO so that he can upgrade to a k-series CPU later
