Why is my pc so slow?(solved)

So I have a Gateway DX4200-09 desktop pc and I use it to play games and do random stuff.

 

But its sooo SLOW I can't play a single GAME without lag its impossible, plus it's laggy on windows explorer too!

i tried everything from deleting stuff to shutting off all programs in the backround even Windows!

it helped somebit but not really, I played stuff from counter strike to Minecraft and get around to 4 to 14fps on lowest settings possible.

 

and bigger games not even a chance. My mac laptop did better but it's broke now.

 

so here's specs:

cpu: amd phenom x4 9100e

ram: 4gb DDR2 800mhz

graphics card: ati radeon hd 3200

Running: windows vista 

hard drive: 640gb

btw I only have 5gb left on hard drive but I can make room.

 

Is it a problem I can fix,is it too old, is it because my storage is full or is it just horrible and get a new pc or its just too dusty.

 

Any fix to this?

Your PC is just very old. You can fix this but honestly I would get a new PC. If you spend around 450$ you should be able to get a good enough gaming experience.

Something I just put together. I would carry over the HDD, it may be slow but it will still do the job for some games. Should be snappy enough and get decent framerates.

2) the hardware runs windows xp better

3) maybe try defragment the HDD

Your graphics card us beyond shit. 

Upgrade the GPU with a R9 380 4GB,  upgrade the PSU with a an EVGA G2/GS/GQ or any PSU from Seasonic or XFX FX.

Why buy when you can build one? Also, I don't recommend you to buy PC from cyberpowerpc because I heard a lot of bad things from people that did purchased their PC from cyberpowerpc.

If you don't know how to build a computer, you can look at this guide.

 

I'm assuming you can keep your computer case and Hard Drive (although you should install your OS into the SSD drive I included) but threw in a high-quality Power Supply so you won't have problems with surges.

Definitely you can do better by building one. Cyberpowerpc overcharges their components by at least $300. You're paying that much for them to put the computer together which takes no more than 1 hour to do.

Buy all the parts then bring them to your local PC repair store and they will build it for you. They might charge you something around $100 or less to build it.

Hey if you could share your city we could see what stores can help you. Also I would try looking for a Fry's or Microcenter for system build locally.
