Good CPU Cooler for under 50$

Im looking for a good cpu cooler for under 50$ for my new build (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gxXFwP). I do plan on overclocking

I'd recommend grabbing a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. It's like $45 Canadian and is one of the best budget air coolers.

Frankly, you'll get many recommendations for the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO due to its popularity but there are many better choices.

 

As said, take a look at the Cryorig H5 Ultimate or the beQuiet! Shadow Rock 2.

Also if you end up needing to scrape together another $10 compared to the H5 the Cryorig H7 can be found for $35 looks and performs better than the 212 evo and has no ram clearance issues if you have or want to get tall ram.

What is the difference between the h5 and the h7

The h5 is a 140mm cooler while the h7 is a lower tier model , 120mm and slightly thinner overall so it can be fit into tighter spaces and is more of a direct competitor to the hyper 212 evo.  I had an H7 that I bought for a secondary system before I put it on a water loop it performed quite well. Right now my brother has it on his 8350 and is happily overclocked to 4.5Ghz without any thermal issues.

 

Also I just double checked and the H5 also has no overhang over memory so they both allow for tall ram.

H5 is bigger fan/heat sink, costs a little more, a little more performance gain. Not that much, but in general, the H5 > H7. Both are great coolers, Cryorig is such an underrated but extremely good quality cooling company overall imho.

I would said go for this if you Case and MoBo has the proper Clearance, and if not and your replacing your Stock Cooler i would Suggest you go with something like Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or 212X. For some reason people will recommend the 212 EVO to its Newer Update the 212X.

212 evo! if you want even better just buy a second fan the evo comes with a second mount for another fan!

The H7 is a stronger cooler and quieter than the H212 evo. IMO it also has a nicer aesthetic. The H5 is in another league altogether, then again its also in another price bracket so that kind of makes sense.

For the money, I don't think the H5 Ultimate can be beat. I've been playing around with my H5 Ultimate, my old H7 and a 212 EVO lately, and the 212 EVO has quickly fallen from a "solid budget pick" to a "not worth the $5 you'll save by buying this instead of the H7". Seriously, the H7 is smaller, quieter, and matches the EVO performance-wise (it's a bit cooler, but within margin of error), and the H5 Ultimate--only $10-15 more--smokes them both by a few degrees under load. If I can scrounge up the cash for it, I might pick up a static pressure-optimized Noctua fan, just to see if it'll shave a couple degrees off the lower-pressure XF140 fan that comes preinstalled.

Because the 212X is more of an enhanced 212E than a successor to it. To most people, especially those on a tight budget, the $25-30 EVO is a better deal than the $40 212X. It's only a very slight noise and temperature improvement.

The cooler master 212 evo is probably the best, i got one and i get 20C when idle on my 4770
