Thermal GLUE?

I need to attach 40-50 CPU heatsinks to a metal plate (aluminum to aluminum)

What is an affordable way to thermally mount them without screws or clips or whatever OTHER THAN THE CRAP THAT DELL USED ON OLD TOWERS? Is there some sort of glue I could use? Or will I have to drill and tap threads into the plates/heatsinks and just put thermal shmoo between them?

There are thermal adhesives, bet you could find some on Amazon.

Basically this.  Thermal paste them to the plate (yes it's a verb now get over it :D) and then hold them in place any way you like (epoxy, welding, etc.)  Well, maybe not welding... I've heard welding aluminium is quite challenging :)  But you get the idea.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

So just cover the bottom of the heatsink in thermal paste and stick it on the plate, then put a bead of epoxy around the heatsink? Or how would I do the epoxy part? The heatsinks will be right next to each other

have you seen Intel's chips being delid?

they use thermal paste where the heat will be and all around they seal it with epoxy

do the same with your heatsinks

Unlike intel's IHS, my heatsinks do not have a raised portion
