Computer not connecting to WiFi

Last night I left my computer on which I don't usually do and it started updates without my permission. I got up this morning and my computer isn't connected to my wifi. I tried putting in my password but it won't work. I've tried looking for solutions but nothing is working. Can someone help?

What windows version are running and which wifi adapter?

any chance windows update might have installed newer wireless drivers?

 

you could try resting the winsock on the machine sometimes fixes random IP/network issue, run command prompt as an administrator and type "netsh winsock reset" then reboot your machine

I would recommend updating to the latest drivers, re-seating the card, checking for funny business in device manager and event viewer and re-installing different versions of drivers.

I am running Windows 10 Pro. I've been trying to find my manuals for all of my computer parts but I'm not having luck right now, so I don't remember what wireless adapter I have. Is there a way to check on my computer?

 

I have no idea if Windows Update would have updated the drivers. I just tried to type in that command but it is saying "The requested operation requires elevation (Run as administrator)." 

I assumed I was the administrator, since I'm the only one who uses this computer. How do I make it so I am?

Yes, there is a way- it's called "Device manager"...

In the device manager, under Network adapters, it lists:

to run as adminastrator you need to right cilck the cmd icon and in the drop down select run as admin
