USB 3.0 Transfer Speeds Slow

Hey guys, didn't really know where to post this. So I recently got an NZXT H440 and an ASRock Fatal1ty Z97x Killer mobo. My question is that I was transferring some movies onto an external USB 3.0 HDD http://amzn.to/1OsQ3kD and I was getting transfer speeds of around 40-50 MBps when connected to the front USB 3.0 ports on the case and about 80 MBps when connected to the MOBO USB 3.0 ports in the back. Is this normal for USB 3.0 ports? I thought that USB 3.0 was supposed to transfer a lot quicker (up to 640 MBps)? Is there a reason my USB 3.0 ports are performing more like USB 2.0 ports? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Some things to consider:

A: not all USB 3.0 devices are equal.  Some are much much faster than others.  The one you linked didn't mention the sequential read/write speeds

B: did you install the motherboard drivers?  That disc that comes with ur mobo should have the USB 3.0 drivers on there somewhere.

C: Did you plug ur HDD in the Blue USB socket?  They are the USB 3.0 ones.

CPU: i7 4770K 4.2Ghz, Mobo: Asrock Fatal1ty Z97x Killer, GFX: EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC ACX (x2 SLI), RAM: G.Skill 1600Mhz CAS 9 16GB, DSK Intel 530 120GB OS, Crucial M500 120GB, WD 1TB Blue, WD 1TB Green, PSU: Corsair AX1200i, Case: Obsidian 750D.

SERVER HP ProLiant Microserver N54L, FreeNAS: ZFS, 8TB (4x 2TB WD Red), RAID Z2, 16GB ECC RAM, 1Gb/s Link Aggregated:  Running as NAS, Plex, & ownCloud

A harddisk will not manage more than 80-120MB/s usually. Plus, USB3.0 is only capable of 5Gb/s, so roughly 500MB/s in the best case scenario.
